Precious moments

Here are some random pictures of the kids and our farm recently.
Dane got these bib overalls from his Grandpa and Grandma and the cute hat from his Grampy and Grammy for his birthday.  I couldn't let the photo opportunity pass.

My farmgirl running through the pasture.

Cutest garden helper ever!

Nora got glitter "freckles" while playing with some of her sparkly shoes the other day.  So far, she has not inherited Mommy's real freckles.

Dane is in love with Calvin and Hobbes recently.  I got home the other day and saw a foot poking out of the "fort" on the new playset.  When I went to inspect, I found Daddy reading to Dane.

When Grammy was here for a day, Dane roped her into numerous hours of reading!  I think they both enjoyed it!
The chickens out by the plum tree.

I hope we get apples this year!  There are some pretty buds on the tree, and I love that I accidentally caught all the chickens in the background while snapping this shot.

Monkeys and trees

We finished up the playset this week, and the kids have been spending lots of time on it.
I couldn't quite catch her when she did, "Look Mom! No hands!"
I have called Dane my monkey since he was just a few days old.  He is certainly living up to his nickname these days!

Daddy built them a bridge across the creek in the pasture.

They love to head out to this old willow tree that is bent and leaning over the water.

This plum tree stood fairly straight until our big storm last August.

It's still blooming!

The blossoms are opening on the flowering almond shrub.
Dane found this egg on our driveway under a tree today.

Work and play

Saturday was a beautiful day, so Grampy drove down to our farm to put in some more hours on the playset.  We almost finished it by the time the sun set, but there are a few details remaining.  Dane helped off and on throughout the day.

This evening, Mike and I worked on a few of the remaining details while Dane and Nora played "Prince and Princess" on and around the playset.  We tried our best to keep straight faces and pretend not to hear them as their imaginations ran wild.  It was pretty difficult with some of the things they said...

Nora: "I'm just a woman that needs a prince."

After they pretended to get married once, Nora wanted to play it all over again.
Dane: "I'm only getting married once, to one person, and that's it!"

Nora kept persisting, so Dane suggested they would have to get unmarried first.
Dane: "Nora, we're not married anymore.  I took my wedding ring off and put it in the garbage.  And the garbage man already came!"

Isn't the mind of a child such an amazing thing?

We will hopefully finish the last little part of the playset tomorrow, and I will post pictures soon.

This might make you glad you don't live too close to us!

Easter weekend with Family!

Except for high winds, we had a beautiful Easter weekend.  Here are a load of pictures without much explanation.  Enjoy, and have a beautiful week!

"Tattoos" from stamps the Easter Bunny brought.

Brown eggs are so beautiful for dyeing.

Zachary turns 11 this week, so we had an Easter/birthday cake and cupcakes today.

Working on a replacement for our playset that blew over last summer.
Beautiful Jimmy.  You will never meet a more well-behaved 6-month-old puppy.
The whole gang, except for my parents who were also here and took this Anderson family photo!
