Hazy mornings

August has brought lots of rain (2.5 inches in our last storm alone), so everything's very green.  The humidity also makes some mornings very hazy.  I love to get up as the sun is coming up and wander around our place taking pictures.
If you look closely, you can see the cows grazing in the pasture.
"Can we have a ride?"
I love this vine that is growing along our fenceline.  My father-in-law has since informed me that it is wild cucumber which is actually a nuisance.  I still think it's pretty, so I took even more pictures of it this morning which are further down.
The kitties follow me around and crawl into some of the pictures!
The creek has water in it again with the recent rain.
This was another day that wasn't hazy, but I still love the view of our barn peeking over the beautiful green bean field.

Earlier this month

At the beginning of the month, we spent an extended weekend at Hugh and Melodee's.  We did so much during that time, but I didn't take pictures of everything.  Some of the highlights not pictured included: antiquing with Melodee and our girls, golfing for the boys, and an adult outing to tube the Cannon River. The four kids didn't mind that we left them with a baby-sitter because the four of the played and swam so much that they didn't have time to miss us.
We had another adults only trip to the new Target Field to watch the Twins play.
Hug and Melodee. (The best part of this picture is that Melodee is wearing the Twins shirt that she was wearing when she first met Hugh about 17 years ago.)
Ellie celebrated her 7th birthday!
Dane got to stay for another 3 days with his cousins while the rest of us came home.  He certainly didn't miss us!  They did so many fun things including this amazing homemade slip-n-slide!

Fair and fun

Last evening we went to a nearby county fair.  We had tried to go to our county fair last week, but we got there just as the fair was shut down due to a tornado warning.  So we drove home in wind and rain that made the visibility just as bad or worse than a blizzard.  Last night we had much better weather!
Nora went through a moment of nervousness just before the ride started.  Once they took off, she was just thrilled!
Up high on a little helicopter ride.  Theirs was missing its propellor.
Meeting some goats.
We met up with some friends at the fair by chance- that's what happens in a smaller community!
Big hugs for our neighbor Rebecca.
Nora sandwich!
Little friend Addison.

Pony rides.
I love this picture!
Earlier in the week, we spent a couple of hours at the amusement park in the Mall of America.
Daddy and Mommy got to ride with the kids here!

Just being kids!

Saying hi to the cows in the pasture.
Playing T-ball.  Nora decided to be a leftie temporarily!

They have lots more fun when they are home with Daddy and Mommy is at work!  I wonder who does the laundry in this household?

With love...

Dear Bessie,

Of all the lovely spots to take a nap on our farm, why did you always prefer the space below a vehicle?  You were beautiful even as I  lay you in the dirt last evening...

I just had to show off my cousin's beautiful photography blog!
