Beauty

Snow days

We had a big snowstorm here a week ago. School was cancelled, but I was still expected to be at work by 7 am Monday morning. My knight in shining armor faithfully crawled out of his cozy bed and fired up the tractor and snow plow to remove the 5 foot drift that had accumulated right in front of my garage stall. That evening, we all enjoyed the soft snow out at our local ski hill.

Valentine's Day

Nora decided to wear her fancy dress for her Valentine's Day school party. She didn't wear the hat to school, but they looked pretty cute together. Mike was able to join Dane for lunch at school. After lunch, he played tag with Dane and his friends on the playground, and they all discovered what we already know- we have the best daddy ever in this house! Too bad the recess supervisor cut off Mike's head in the big group picture! That evening, the four of us celebrated at home with a ribeye dinner and chocolate fondue. So much to love!

Milo is 1!

Animal house

Charlie keeps on growing! In the past 4 weeks, he grew from 15.5 pounds to 29 pounds! Pepin the cat visited Dane's classroom last week and behaved perfectly. The cows and goat meandered through our front yard today, and both dogs came out for a run with me this afternoon. Dane and Pepin are still best buddies!

A Sunday afternoon

We trudged across the pasture, playing in the snow drifts along the way, to visit Grandpa and Grandma.

Precious moments

Grandpa was diagnosed with a glioblastoma the first of this year, and treatment was not recommended. While it has been hard to watch his condition fail so quickly, it has been such a blessing for us to realize how numbered our days are with him. The first weekend of February, we spent a family day playing games and visiting. Nora has loved playing with the Barbie dolls that belonged to my mom and her sisters when they were girls.

Joys of January

January was a very cold month, but we had some beautiful days to enjoy sledding, skiing, and our furry friends!
A Frosty morning.

Sundogs

Dane lost his first top tooth.

The other one followed one week later!

Our beautiful sledding hill was super fast after some freezing rains!

Puppy dog eyes

Charlie loves to be at my feet, and I love my new soccasins created by my talented cousin, Sabrina!

Grandpa and Milo napping together one afternoon.

A four-armed, four-legged, hunchbacked monster came running through the house one evening!

Green eyes!

Charlie loves to move every single one of his toys to his rug.

I had a mommy date night at Andes Tower Hills with the kiddos last week.

It was foggy and rainy, but 33 degrees felt pretty warm after our recent subzero temps!
