9 month photos

Despite having an upset tummy this evening, Dane performed very well for the camera. Some of the results...

Walking...

with a little help! You can watch Dane walk behind his new walker here.

Merry Christmas!

We took a small vacation over the extended weekend to Brian Head, Utah for some skiing/snowboarding. The snow was a bit sparse, but we had a fun time overall.
Nine months old today!

Dane's first boo-boo requiring a band-aid. (Look closely at his index finger.)

Enjoying a bit of freedom!

And now that Christmas is "behind" us...
Happy New Year!

Zion National Park

We took a side trip to Zion National Park on our way to Brian Head. The pictures don't do justice to its amazing beauty. We took a quick hike before the sun set. Dane loved being out of his car seat!

Surprise!

We woke up this morning to beautiful whiteness! I had gotten up early to work out and didn't even look outside at first. I got into the car and was ready to back out of the garage when I realized there was something funny in my rearview mirror! I went to the boot camp workout anyway (see picture below or click here for more pictures) and then we bundled Dane up afterward to take him out into his first snow.

Our neighbor built this cute little snowman. Dane doesn't look too impressed!

Drool Bug!

Hangin' with Daddy.

In or out?

Can't wait to climb in...

Lookin' cute!

One man band

Watch the little musician here. Too bad I didn't have the keyboard turned on.

Uh-oh!

This weekend, Dane started mimicking us. When he drops something, we always say "Uh-oh!". Watch him here.

Busy Little Boy!

Dane is really on the move these days. He crawls incredibly fast, and now is standing alongside everything. (We're thanking the last people who lived in our house for childproofing all of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets.) Some pictures of the little guy in action!
This foam basketball must taste pretty good. He bit out a little piece that Mike had to fish out of his mouth. We've put it away for the time being!

Concentrating hard on playing his latest piece for us.

Lizzi watches in fear as Dane approaches. He's still not quite quick enough to actually catch either of the cats.

Look- one hand! He looks like he's ready to take of walking in these next two pictures. Hopefully he holds off for just a little while!

Little "Helper"

Santa Claus

Dane met a fisherman Santa at the Bass Pro Shops on Saturday.
"What's that funny stuff on your face?"

More visitors!

Lee, Brooke, Selina, and Peyton came to visit last weekend! We had so much fun together! I wish I had some pictures of Selina and Peyton with Dane. They really enjoyed each other, giving hugs and playing together!

8 months

Dane just turned 8 months old yesterday. Looking back, a lot has happened in the past month. He started crawling, got three new teeth, started eating finger foods, and just recently started pulling himself up to stand. Where did that little baby go?!?

This is Thanksgiving?!?

We had a very nontraditional Thanksgiving Day yesterday. Since we had already celebrated with our families last weekend, we took the day to just sleep in and do what we wanted. In the afternoon, we strapped Dane into his little bike trailer and headed out for the bike trail. He's not so sure about the whole helmet thing, yet!
Ready to ride!

Taking a break along the way- it feels so good to be out of that trailer!

The Las Vegas strip in the distance.

After almost 30 miles of riding, we arrived back home and realized we were exhausted and famished. We headed just down the road to a local restaurant and enjoyed their Thanksgiving special. After all, what would Thanksgiving be without turkey?

Busy weekend!

We spent the weekend acting like tourists in our home area. Saturday we drove out to Red Rock Canyon and Bonnie Springs just west of Las Vegas. From there we continued just into California to the China Ranch date farm. Today we headed out to Boulder City and rode the Nevada Southern Railway.
