I had another in-depth ultrasound today at 35 weeks pregnant. Baby seems to be doing well but growing quite large. By ultrasound estimates, this little one is over 6 1/2 pounds already, maybe close to 7. Because of baby's large size, they checked my glucose which was borderline high. Therefore, I have to do another glucose tolerance test tomorrow as it appears that I may have developed gestational diabetes :( . Dr. said that we will probably have to proceed with the c-section in just over 2 weeks due to baby's large size and my increased amount of amniotic fluid (risk of cord prolapse if my water broke spontaneously). Good news is that baby is doing lots of practice breathing, so s/he should be ready for this great big world soon!! We'll keep you posted!

Baseball Buddies
Mike had a baseball tournament this weekend. We found Dane some little baseball pants so that he could match Daddy. Though the results of the actual games were a bit disappointing for Mike, he said the best part was hanging out and playing with Dane. As you can see, the weather was a bit dreary here. We had periodic showers and temps in the 60s, but it's actually a bit of relief from the 100+ temps of last week.
Here Daddy helps Dane put on his glove.

Big Brother Practice
This week, we got Dane his own "baby." He immediately named it Baby Joey! We practiced rocking, swaddling, and changing baby's diaper. Looks like he'll do pretty well!
Rough morning
By noon, Dane had two separate incidents requiring band-aids to his forehead. The big yellow one in the center is covering a pretty good scrape that he got while running down the stepping-stone path in our back yard to talk to Daddy. He tripped and didn't catch himself before his forehead hit the corner of one of the stones. He immediately started crying for Mommy to kiss it, not understanding that we needed to wipe off lots of blood before I could do that! After that incident was resolved, he was helping Daddy do some yard work in our front yard and got too close to the palm tree. One of its spines poked the side of his forehead and caused some pretty good bleeding for a while. Once again, Mommy had to wash off lots of blood so that she could kiss it better.
He is definitely his Daddy's boy! The evening before Mike and I got married, Mike's sister gave us a first-aid kit. With it, she told the amusing stories that went along with many of the scars he carries from all his childhood mishaps!
Things are looking up this evening. Here is Dane out watering our flowers. Maybe this is why he is growing so fast- he seems to get more water on himself than the flowers!

Mommy's Day
Before breakfast, Dane helped me read my cards.
After Dane's nap, we went out for a late lunch to avoid the crowded restaurants. We went to one of my favorite cafes in Boulder City. Dane was more interested in watching the motorcycles passing by than in eating the food in front of him.
After lunch, we went to a park to let Dane burn off some energy. The swings were so much fun!
Later we went over to see these buddies dressed in their Mother's Day attire! (Picture courtesy of their Auntie Kari's blog.) Dane and Daddy went for a quick swim together in their pool. Apparently, Daddy wasn't walking quite quickly enough for Dane's tastes!
My very favorite part of the day!

Last weekend
This is a bit overdue, but this Mommy isn't moving at her usual pace lately. Thank goodness we have only a month and a half to go! Last weekend we rented a camper and drove over to Buttonwillow convention. Dane thought it was quite an adventure! Here are just a couple of pictures that I shot during our time there. Every evening, Dane bathed in his custom tub- a Rubbermaid set in the shower!
