Sled cat

We have a sweet little farm cat who loves people (even the kids!) so much that he rides on the sled just for the cuddles he gets. The kids love that he allows them to hold and hug him since our indoor cat dislikes the kids and hides under the bed every moment the kids are awake!

We pulled this awesome old toboggan out of the barn. All four of us are able to easily fit on it (plus the cat) as we slide down our icy driveway!

A weekend in Milnor

Last weekend, we went to Milnor to visit Grampy and Grammy. Ben and Jen met us there, and we had a lovely weekend! Jen has a wonderful camera and amazing photography skills, so she documented the weekend in photos very nicely and kindly shared them with me.

The rest of her beautiful photos can be viewed here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=193408&id=651109446&l=b27b7d4b35

This and that

This is a pretty stray cat who occasionally shows up at our door and waits to be fed. She is quite shy, and this is about as far as she dares to step in the house. Dane calls her the "homeless kitty."
Until recently, this house had only 1 bathroom (with 6 of us living here)! With some creative planning, we were able to add a small bathroom upstairs without giving up a bedroom. Here is the finished product!

Winter days

Frost on my drive to work today. It was so beautiful as the sun rose at our place today, but I didn't get any pictures in my morning hurry to get ready for the day.
Dane loves to play in the big snow drifts in the yard.
Throwing snow at Momma!
Digging tunnels in the snow.
All bundled up again!
Sitting on a big drift.
Making cupcakes with Grandma.

On another note, our upstairs bathroom is almost finished. At least the toilet, sink, and shower are now functional!!

Cousins!

Hugh, Melodee, Zachary, and Ellie came for a short visit this past weekend. It was so fun to see Dane's anticipation for his cousins' arrival and the fun all the kids had playing together. Just another reason that we are so happy to be back in Minnesota.

Playing train in the laundry baskets.

Matching cousins in their pj's...

...and all dressed up for Sunday. Ellie is very proud to be a big cousin!

Our little fish!

During our Christmas hotel stay, Nora really took a liking to the swimming pool. She would wake up in the morning and insist that she wear her swimsuit, so this is how she would arrive for continental breakfast in the hotel lobby.

Swimming with Daddy.

Back at home, she now will insist on wearing her deflated water wings around the house. She's a silly and determined little girl!

Happy 50th!

We braved the winter weather over the Christmas weekend and headed to Bismarck to meet up with lots of family. While we were all together, we celebrated my Mom's 50th birthday which is almost upon us- January 6. Sadly, I didn't take many pictures of our fun and snowy days with my grandpa and grandma, aunts and uncles, and many cousins. I did capture a few of the birthday celebration.

Dane helped Grammy blow out her candles.

She can't possibly be 50!
