Cubby is here!
Carter William Shepherd was born today to proud parents Jeff and Renee. Here are some pictures of Dane getting acquainted with his new little buddy. (Actually, at 8 lbs. 13 oz., he's not really so little!!)
We were only at the hospital for 30 minutes, but Dane goes through clothes quite frequently these days. He's getting known among our friends for his not-so-quiet accidents. Thus, the two different outfits in pictures taken only minutes apart!!

Length: 26 1/4 inches (95th percentile)

Little All-Star
Our sweetie was pretty exhausted after we played in an all-night outdoor grass court volleyball tournament last night. He did sleep a little in his playpen next to the courts, but not his usual 8-9 hour stretch. Cousin Ellie will also be happy to see that Dane has taken her advice and is putting his thumb to good use!

Last weekend
Grampy and Grammy just left us yesterday. They came to visit us last Thursday evening and enjoyed lots of quality time with Dane! They got their blog updated before us, so you can click on the "Dad and Mom" link to the right if you want to see pictures. We hope they can back again soon!!

On the move!
Dane has really begun to scoot himself around these days. His favorite toy is his activity mat with little fish that he can play with.
Turned just a little bit sideways (we lay him down straight with the mat).
We happened to look down tonight and Dane had turned himself a complete 180 degrees. He thought the little beach ball looked like more fun than the fish, apparently!

Another night at the ballpark!
We went to another 51's game last night with Jeff, Renee, and Cubby. If he's on time, we should meet Cubby in another 3 weeks!

3 months old!
We can't believe that Dane is already 3 months old tomorrow! He's growing so fast and becoming even more fun every day! He smiles lots and now is learning to "talk" to us!! We're still waiting for that first real giggle!

Keepin' cool.
Temps hit about 107 today, so we headed to Jeff and Renee's pool.
Dane gets screened up- "That tickles my tummy, Mommy!"
Take me out to the ballgame...
We went to a Las Vegas 51's game on Friday evening. They are the Dodger's triple A team. Dane did pretty well, but we only stayed until the 7th-inning stretch.
"Go 51's!"Growing right along!
Dane had his 2-month checkup on Wednesday. He now weighs 12 lb. 12oz. and is 23 inches long.
This isn't the greatest picture, but it shows how much Dane has grown recently. Between his added height and weight, his feet now easily touch the floor in the Jumperoo! (See previous picture from May 21st post.)
