Boulder Beach

After a swim last evening.

New Stunts

Dane has been practicing for the X Games 2025. This is what goes on around here when Mommy's not here to supervise. Good boy fun!! Dane does the stunts and Daddy captures the action!
"This riding is kind of fun, but what else can I try?"
"Let's try this..."
"...or maybe this..."
"Oh... hi Daddy!"
He even proceeded to try jumping around on the seat a bit, but this was not captured in photos! Crazy little boy!

Time for "Nigh-nigh!"

After a haircut and a bath!
Storytime with Mommy.
We feel so fortunate that Dane really likes bedtime and usually wants to crawl right into his crib. We'll cross our fingers that his wonderful sleep habits continue!

Busy little buddies!

Jeff, Renee, and Carter came over to visit last evening. The boys decided to drag all the toys into the kitchen to play!
Everybody pile on!

Training

I finally convinced Mike that we should both sign up for the Lake Las Vegas Triathlon (International distance) on September 1st. He's being a good sport and humoring me by agreeing to do it with me. However, it won't be real humorous that, despite my fairly committed training versus him just doing his regular daily workouts, he'll still finish much faster than me. Oh well, what's a girl to do? So, to continue the story, we finally headed out to Lake Mead with our friend John on Saturday to get in some swimming in the open water instead of just swimming at the gym pool. It's a completely different feeling to swim long distances in the lake where you can't just put your feet down if you want/need to. While I've worked up to swimming a mile in the pool without any resting or much difficulty, the open water just gets me. I have to constantly push down those funny little butterflies in my tummy and tell myself that those shadows I see are nothing! Here's a picture of the cove we swam in. We strapped Dane into his jogging stroller and followed a bumpy trail down to the cove off to the left in this picture. He got quite the ride but enjoyed the adventure.
Mike and John headed out for a lengthy swim to the island you see straight ahead in this picture. It doesn't seem too far until you try to swim there!
Dane and I hung out near the water and swam lots to keep cool in the midday sun. Here Dane does some exploring and looks back up the hill that we actually carried his stroller down to get to the water!
When Mike and John got back, Mike talked to his brother on the phone and Dane hung out in his stroller while I swam back and forth near the shore. I was a bit nervous to go out very far on my own, especially with some boaters not too far away, and the guys were too tired out from their own swim to accompany me!
Dane fell asleep in his stroller while I was swimming, and he somehow slept the whole bumpy ride back up to the car!
Keep watching for pictures and results from the triathlon in a couple of weeks!

Saturday

We decided to take a little trip over to the Arizona side of Lake Mead, so we woke Dane up from his late morning nap. He was sleeping peacefully but woke easily with a smile on his face!
The sun was a bit bright, so Dane donned a pair of Daddy's old shades.
We found a sandy beach where Dane could wander around and chase lizards with his bright orange flag.
Late afternoon sun over the water.
On the ride back to the marina, Dane grabbed a towel and curled up for a catnap!

A new niece to love!

Welcome Morgan Lafawn Anderson!
She was born today at 5:43 pm to proud parents Mark and Anna and tipped the scales at 9 pounds, 6 ounces!
Here are some photos we just got- she's every bit as beautiful as we had imagined! We can't wait to give her hugs and kisses!

Another visitor!

Mike's cousin Troy looked us up on his way through Vegas this weekend. He and Mike hit the links together to catch up on things! What a handsome bunch!

Daddy's Home!

After being out of town for a couple of days on business, we are more than happy to have him back!
