Early morning craziness...

To beat the crazy crowds at Lake Mead this weekend (most people are celebrating the 4th early), we set our alarm clock for 4 am and actually staggered out of bed without hitting snooze! Dane and Mike ate breakfast #1 at around 4:30 (see clock in the background).
We headed out to the lake and were on the water before 5 am. The sky was just starting to lighten up. We joined Bryan Johnston and friends on their boat. The water was so calm and there was only one other boat in the vicinity.
Mike's first morning run...
and mine.

The sun finally came out by the time we made our second runs.
My crazy hubby!

Our little driver. Notice how he has one hand on the wheel and one on the throttle. He's been watching!!
Our actual driver (who isn't too shabby on the wakeboard when he's not driving!).
We were off the water by 8:00 am and headed into Boulder City for breakfast #2 at the Coffee Cup Cafe. Good stuff! We then proceeded home for a nice morning nap! I must say that Dane was a real trooper with this early morning thing. He woke up cheerfully and was really excited to get on the boat. He did get a bit cranky later in the morning, but was easily distracted by "driving" and playing with the rope. Now we're just enjoying a relaxing day around the house and trying to keep cool.

Superman!

I happened to catch Dane in midair while he was climbing up onto one of our outdoor chairs. That's a little more effort than most people put into sitting!
Success! He loves to sit like a big boy in a chair next to us. He decided that Lizzi needed to be brushed. However, she's still a bit quicker than Dane, so he wasn't able to accomplish his mission!

Father's Day hike

While we were in Utah, we stayed up in Park City. Sunday morning we got up early and went for a little hike up the ski hill.
Wildflowers in bloom.
Family photo in the morning sun.
Pushing the jogger along the narrow trail.
We stayed in the building to the far right on this picture.
If you click to enlarge this picture, there is a red arrow that marks the point where the first two photos above were taken.

Friends

Here are some pictures of Dane with his best pals Carter and Bryanna. They are first cousins to each other and both go to the same babysitter as Dane during the week.
Two little monkeys dressed alike!
It's hard to get these busy little boys to sit still long enough to get a good picture!
Bryanna and Dane loved this little "bridge" and the noise it made as they would run across it...
...or stomp on it!

A little resemblance

Dane loved these little green apples. He chewed on them a bit but didn't actually eat them.
When I looked at the above picture, it reminded me a bit of this old picture of me. I was only about 8 months old and actually eating a radish! People always comment on how much Dane looks like his Daddy (and he really does!), but there is a little bit of Mommy in him, too!

Happiness is...

...being married to your best friend...for nine years!
