8 months

Dane just turned 8 months old yesterday. Looking back, a lot has happened in the past month. He started crawling, got three new teeth, started eating finger foods, and just recently started pulling himself up to stand. Where did that little baby go?!?

This is Thanksgiving?!?

We had a very nontraditional Thanksgiving Day yesterday. Since we had already celebrated with our families last weekend, we took the day to just sleep in and do what we wanted. In the afternoon, we strapped Dane into his little bike trailer and headed out for the bike trail. He's not so sure about the whole helmet thing, yet!
Ready to ride!

Taking a break along the way- it feels so good to be out of that trailer!

The Las Vegas strip in the distance.

After almost 30 miles of riding, we arrived back home and realized we were exhausted and famished. We headed just down the road to a local restaurant and enjoyed their Thanksgiving special. After all, what would Thanksgiving be without turkey?

Busy weekend!

We spent the weekend acting like tourists in our home area. Saturday we drove out to Red Rock Canyon and Bonnie Springs just west of Las Vegas. From there we continued just into California to the China Ranch date farm. Today we headed out to Boulder City and rode the Nevada Southern Railway.

So Thankful!

With all of Dane's grandparents here, we celebrated Thanksgiving early at our home. While Mike and I were at work, the grandmas were hard at work in our kitchen putting together a feast. Everything was so yummy! Our Las Vegas "family," (Jeff, Renee, and Carter) also came over to help us eat up!

A New Toy!

We recently replaced our cell phone, and Dane inherited the old one. As you can see, he thinks it makes a great toy!

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit!

Mike's parents flew in to visit the evening of November 6th. They were here to babysit Dane for a couple of days before heading to LA for a Vietnam Vets reunion. They'll be back Sunday evening to spend another week with us. We're also excited for Dane's other Grampy and Grammy to arrive on the 16th! Then we all get to be together until all the grandparents fly home together on the 20th. We're going to celebrate Thanksgiving a week early while everyone is here!

The Streak

Dane really enjoys when we let him hang out in the buff for a bit after his evening bath.
Drop and give me twenty! Dane demonstrates proper pushup form.

Ready or not, here Dane comes!

Dane has really progressed with his crawling. The kitties will need to be on their toes, and our babyproofing skills will be put to the test! Click here to watch.

Niketown 5k for Kids

Dane "ran" his first 5k race today with us. Thanks to Daddy, he was the first baby to cross the finish line.
Rehydrating after the race. (Check out the crazy windblown hair!)

Lookin' tough in Daddy's cap!
Pretty soon he'll be pulling himself up to stand around our furniture.

Another year older...

Thanks to all who remembered my birthday with cards, phone calls, and emails. My day was lovely, especially thanks to my awesome hubby! He stopped by my office with flowers during the day and surprised me by taking me out to dinner at the Top of the World restaurant located at the top of the Stratosphere Tower. A picture of us and one of our views (the restaurant revolves so you get to see the whole city while you eat.)
